Walsh is known to have a bold style that
is playful at the same time. She wants her
work to be a creative method to impact
social issues. At the end of the day, she
wants to use designs that can make
people “think or feel something.” She
allows follows her gut and does not have
any regrets afterward. When working,
Jessica Walsh has mentioned multiple
times that “play” is a large element of
her work. She believes that play is the
optimal state to be at to have a balanced
flow of creating new ideas while
challenging and using your skills. She
also advised that not everyone will enjoy
your work but that is completely fine.
Constructive criticism should be used in a
healthy way to grow from mistakes. She
purposely tries using vibrant colors and
designs so that the sensitive topics that are
the underlying message aren’t seen as
unapproachable, but getting rid of the
stigma so that people aren’t ashamed of
certain issues. Yet having high hopes,
Walsh is hesitant about the impact
design can make in society.
